The beginning of “Dead poets society” unwraps itself to the scene of a solemn induction ceremony conveying an emotion smothering mood trimmed with pride, curiosity, and anticipation. The screen opens to a vintage portrait of boys with their eyes cast upwards expressing their pride and respect for the school they attend. The camera then pulls down to rest on the face of a plump young student who poses for a picture, about to be amidst the dimly lit church where a silent and reverent acceptance ceremony takes place. The Gothic styled chapel encloses parents and boys with fearful respect for the headmaster who leaves the crowd feeling proud and respectable, but still overall stuck in the middle of a generically boring, dull, lengthy, unoriginal ceremony.
